Who thinks that the spanish speaking english not us learn spanish?

I don’t conceive kids should hit to see spanish because the polity can’t ready the mexicans crossways the border. We didn’t attain them become here ground should we hit to see their module they should hit to see english.

well…….i hear what your saying but….fact is the kids need to learn spanish for their own future…..most professions….like doctors, nurses, correction officers, teachers…..need to communicate with all……..those who don’t know spanish are only hurting themselves
I’m not a xenophobe, but I tend to agree with you. I took up through Advanced Placement Spanish in high school, and it’s kinda cool to know, but it seems to me that if we go to Mexico or Spain, nobody is going to feel compelled to learn English to accommodate us. You expect that if you go to a foreign country, there will be a language barrier. If we’re going to say that immigrating to the U.S. is a right afforded to most people in the world, so be it, but that doesn’t mean we have to make it easy.
The purpose of our learning Spanish isn’t to accomodate immigrants in the US, legal or otherwise. It’s simply because Spanish is such a widely-spoken and thus highly useful language in global trade and politics; it gives you a huge advantage when traveling and opens up job opportunities.
I think that especially when they are young, it would be in the best interests of all children to learn as many languages as possible. Learning languages is much much easier as a child than it is as an adolecent or an adult. The benefits and opportunities that your child will gain from speaking other languages will have a positive impact on their future. Spanish is spoken in many countires around the world, it would be a good one to start with.
ur right, u shouldnt have to do anything u dont want to but theres nothing wrong w/ learning a different language. open urself up to possibilities. having an open mind allows u to become a well rounded individual.
i think its cool when i hear someone speak a different language other than thier own. try it
They should learn it because spanish is the 2nd most inmportant language in the world…
My mother always told me: the more languages you speak, the more people you are.
I learned five.
Don’t you think if the spanish people would learn english would be in advantage over you, who speak only one? Think about it
I heard that a person who speaks two languages is called a bilingual. One who speaks only one language is called an american. No offense, just a joke we have here in Europe. Most americans who come here expect us all to speak english and don’t bother learning our language, even if THEY came to our country
Speaking correct English is very important. It seems though a majority of those in the United States can not speak or write proper English. But… Learning a second laugage is just as important. It allows us to communicate with more people, make more friends and be more civil to our fellow humans.
They Should Learn A little A Least.
I think that we should have to learn spanish.. I mean we are the only nation in the world that isn’t taught to speach in different languages. I think that it not only makes you smarter but also we help the people that want to travel when they get older. I don’t think we should be so single minded..
I get what you’re saying. But, I think that one reason the government makes children learn Spanish, or any other diffrent language for that matter is that kids these days are slacking in school, they don’t care about their education and their grades and also to prepare them for their future. (i.e. jobs)
What if you are REALLY good at this one particular job and you are the most likely candidate to be hired, but one thing that this job requires is for you to know Spanish. And since you weren’t made to learn that or any other language in middle school, or any other grade for that matter, you won’t be chosen. Wouldn’t you feel “MAN!! I widh tjey forced us to learn Spanish in school!!” Or, “GOSH!!! Why didn’t I pay attention during school?!”
Or 4 instance what if you saw a Mexican that was injured and you were the only one that saw him and could help him, and all he spoke was Spanish!! And you were FORCED to learn Spanish in school, and you know how to speak it!! Wouldn’t you be grtaeful thta you were able to understand him & get the information that you need?!
But let’s say that you WEREN’T forced 2 learn a second language, wouldn’t that really stink?!?! And that you knew you weren’t able to hlp him JUST b/c you weren’t force to learn it or JUST b/c you didn’t pay attention in school?!?!?!!?!?!?!
I’m in agreement with toing. And by the way, Einstein spoke at least 3 languages.
I am currently living in Gibraltar where many people are bi lingual. Spain is only 1km away from my house.
I work with many Spanish people. Most of them speak fluent English and my Spanish is pitiful. I feel rude not being able to communicate with them in their own language and wished I studied better at school. I am learning though. I think learning language is important as we travel the world much easier nowadays.
This is a egnocentric attitude(egnocentric, no egocentric)… Learning another language gives us the power to communicate and the ability to understand other cultures…. Learning does not hurt!
